About the Author

My name used to be Bryan Walker. I’m having my name legally changed to Jaden Bryan Greenfield-Walker in the summer of 2010 when I get married.

I have Asperger’s Syndrome (high-functioning autism), and chronic pain in my right wrist from a surgical error. These affect every last thing in my life.

I’m working toward my PhD in Entomology (specializing in spiders and myriopods). I will be starting at Texas A&M’s school of entomology in Fall 2011.

My life made no sense until I was diagnosed with autism in 2006. Now, all my failures and successes finally make sense and I’ve begun to turn my life around. It’s a lot easier to succeed at things when you know that you’re different and how to compensate :)

I used to be a professional musician. I’ve toured most of the US and Canada with different bands over the years. I played piano, drums, guitar, and bass guitar. In 2008, I suffered an injury to my right wrist, followed by a bad surgery, which is now a permanent injury. I will never play an instrument again.

From Wikipedia: the lack of demonstrated empathy is possibly the most dysfunctional aspect of Asperger’s syndrome.

You lack the empathy needed to understand your professor’s point of view. There’s nothing wrong with teaching Creationism. Quite honestly, I think you need to see things from his point of view. Like someone pointed out, Princeton teaches Creationism and it’s still allowed. Why should they ban the teaching at a small school in Oklahoma, and not ban it at an Ivy League school like Princeton? It makes no sense. It feels like you are blowing the event up to major proportions, and it doesn’t need to be blown up. But of course, you are entitled to your own rights, so you can think what you want. But I would attribute it to the Asperger’s.

      Anita-
You are entirely ignorant, and on top of that, rude. You should think twice before you say anything, because what you said displays your ignorance towards the subject and towards people with Asperger’s. Be careful what you say, it will come back to bite you one day.
